What's Your Glow?
*To ignite within girls and women the spark that inspires them to be their best and fullest selves, to discover their true potential, and to settle for nothing less.

official glow* website - twitter - facebook

Glow* was started by Julia Albain, Lauren Lopez, Denise Donovan, and Jaime Lyn Beatty in order to create community and inspire girls and women to be the best that they could. Glow* is a community for girls and women to share stories, thoughts, and challenges.

This blog serves as an unofficial place (run completely by fans) to share and discuss what helps YOU glow. Check the official glow* website to check out some inspiration to find your glow, and post to your own blog with the tags "#glow*" or "#know your glow" or submit to this blog and we will publish it.

"Your life comes in waves. We’ve all felt it. and with every wave there is a period of lowness, or rest. You can battle against that all you want, but that resting time, the times when maybe things are moving a little slower than you’d like, is the time when you are gaining your strength and power for the season in which you will need it most."  - Julia Albain (via wecanallglow)

"Every once and a while it’s important to shake things up in order to keep life interesting. For me it’s a great lesson on the ephemeral nature of things: If you love something, let it go."  - Jaime Lyn Beatty (via wecanallglow)

"There are millions of people in the world and plenty of good to go around; someone else getting what they want or reaching a goal takes NOTHING away from you. In fact, it is something to be celebrated!"  - Lauren Lopez (via wecanallglow)

"

Recently I’ve had this overwhelming desire to get lost…all by myself. If only to come face-to-face with the concept of what being “independent” truly means.

But perhaps what excites me most about the idea of getting lost is the potential for discovery that results.

I like how Lauren’s post on Glow was titled, August 29, 2012

notanotherstarkidfan:

hehe…but in all seriousness, it was a great post on learning from nature. Personally, I’ve always felt it incredibly calming to be near water. Something about how it’s constantly moving and changing is quite relaxing.

Let’s look at the rest of this week’s Glow* posts so far.

I love Julia’s post this week. I wish I had her contentment and peace. It seems I’m constantly worrying about the future and the uncertainty of things. Like, I’ll be moving into res on Sunday, and I’m anxious about how different things will be and managing classes, assignments, and work. I really want to remind myself of who I am in the midst of everything and maintain some peace.

Denise’ quiz was a great opportunity to get me to stop thinking about myself and start thinking about others, and also really being thankful for the things I have.

Great writings, Glow* Girls!
